International Development Scholarship in association with International Students House: Application Form

This form must be completed in full, and by submitting this form you are agreeing to our scholarship conditions. If any sections are incomplete, this form will not be considered.

You will only be able to apply for the scholarship if you meet the Eligibility Criteria:

  • Hold an offer for UEL  MSc NGO and Development programme
  • Hold a high 2.1 (Second Class Upper) qualification with a 67%+ overall percentage or equivalent
  • Have a minimum two years' work experience for an NGO
  • Be a national of one of the following countries: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia
  • Intend to return to your home country on completion of the course in order to put your studies into practice
  • Be able to demonstrate that you would otherwise be unable to pursue the course for financial reasons

Please do not include information other than that requested below. This statement must be no more than 600 words. It must explain:

  • a) why you wish to undertake this Programme of study and how you will utilise your qualification in the future
  • b) why you consider yourself to be eligible for the scholarship, bearing in mind the outlined criteria
  • c) why you consider yourself to be an exceptional candidate and what you will contribute to the University of East London as a student
