Environment Team, Facilities
UEL’s week of green events and activities is sadly over. From successful knitting sessions with UEL carrier bags to fascinating discussions about ‘Nature Deficit Disorder’ in the inaugural talk of the new Sustainability Seminar Series, there was lots to learn and plenty to get involved with for all staff and students. Continuing our work on sustainable catering, staff at The Edge served up a special menu of higher welfare meat and local, seasonal vegetables, while Buzz Bar took red meat and poultry off of the menu for one day. To read more about the week and see photos visit the Green Thing website.
Last week the Environment Team popped over to SportsDock to view the building's excellent environmental features and to conduct an environmental induction for new operational SportsDock staff. Covering a variety of topics, such as environmental management and cycle routes around Docklands, the training also gave staff a chance to provide feedback on current and future environmental initiatives at UEL. We’d like to thank the SportsDock staff for their great ideas and congratulate the winning teams in the exciting ‘Recycling Game’.
