The University of East London’s graduate fashion students are exhibiting their end-of-year collections, which opened Sunday at their very own catwalk show as part of this year’s Graduate Fashion Week. The esteemed event, which is taking place at Earls Court 2 and runs from Sunday 6 June to Thursday 10 June, traditionally provides a forum for the very best of student fashion and design talent, showcasing the work of some 50 universities. The UEL catwalk show will feature the collections of graduating students, some of whom are already beginning to make a name for themselves in the incredibly competitive world of high fashion.

The Corporate Marketing Publications and Design Team has launched a new style guide for all marketing publications such as prospectuses, School brochures etc. Based on similar guides used in publishing companies and other universities, the style guide will help to achieve greater consistency and eliminate errors in our publications, thereby further enhancing the professional quality of what we produce. In future, all marketing publications will be edited to follow this style. The guide should therefore be used by any member of staff preparing text for use in marketing publications, but can also, of course, be used for any other publication or document. It will also be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure it remains up to date and relevant.
Workshops on proofreading and copyediting using the style guide are also planned for later this year and these will be open to any members of staff who are interested in this. Further details will be published later in the year.
The guide can be accessed online at www.uel.ac.uk/marketing/publications. You can also contact the Publications Team with any queries, comments or feedback at publications@uel.ac.uk
