Bob Weston, Cllr Charles Fairbrass and Mark WillettIt's a family affair

Our former Barking Campus's flagship building, which majestically lines Longbridge Road was formally launched by Barking and Dagenham Mayor Charles Fairbrass last week (Tuesday 27 October), as Mayesbrook Manor. Weston Homes who purchased the Grade II listed building in 2005 redeveloped the property meticulously meeting the requirements of English Heritage, as well as, respecting the craftsmanship that went into the original building.

Professor Susan Price, UEL Acting Vice-Chancellor, said: “We used the money from the sale of our Barking Campus to complete facilities at our Docklands and Stratford campuses.  I am delighted to have had the opportunity to see what Weston Homes has done with this wonderful building.”

Mark Willet, an estate agent and brother of Keith was also at the launch. Keith said: " It is a strange coincidence that I worked at the campus for maybe 15 years and was involved in selling it and now Mark will be involved in selling the redeveloped appartments."
