Who wrote the original Cinderella fairy tale in the XVII century?
We had a lot of entries for this competition and some of them were very educational! Congratulations to Dina Bavisi who correctly answered Charles Perrault but a pair of tickets also went to Frank Leonhardt who was able to enlighten us about the history of the Cinderella fairy tale.
Apparently, there are numerous versions from around the world dating back many centuries, but from the 17th Century there are two versions. Giambattista Basile's (Italy) and Charles Perrault's (France) who adapted his from Basile's. The Brothers Grimm did a German version in the 19th Century.
Many thanks to all those who took part.
Bargain!! All tickets £7.00 or book for two comedy clubs for the great rate of £10
1 pair of free tickets to giveaway! Please email Karen O'Connor if you'd like to go into the prize draw at k.e.oconnnor @uel.ac.uk Entries out of the hat on Monday 14 January.
