Indian athletes training for Olympics
A team of India's best athletes are staying in our student residences and training with sports scienIndian Athletics Teamce specialists in Newham. They took time out from their punishing schedule to be photographed with Residences colleagues Gloria McCain (R) and Pauline Dench (L). New designers

Textiles at New Designers . Students and staff from our textiles degree programmes were at New Designers last night. Ali Goldstone narrowly missed an award, shortlisted for her work which mixes old sailor tattoos and rock and roll. Lesley Robertson, said: "At UEL we successfully mix commercial and creative design which is reflected in the interest shown, both by the judging panel as well industry executives, in our students' work." London Bikeathon 2008 Join the UEL team at London Bikeathon on 13 July. Last year we raised approx £2000 for Leukaemia Research and had great fun taking over the streets of London, taking in marvellous scenery including, the City, the Embankment, Chelsea Hospital and Richmond Park. Options include a 13, 26, or 52 mile course, catering for all abilities and ages, the team to date is as follows but we are keen to recruit more - if interested please contact me, Greg Price G.Price@uel.ac.uk within the next 48 hours.
