On Friday 8 March the UEL held its inaugural touch tennis event indoors at SportsDock in aid of World Tennis Day which was on the 4 March.
This was a fiercely competed singles tournament which saw students not only compete amongst themselves but against university staff. After two hours of a group stage competition followed by two well contested semi-finals, the championship match played by Michael Parkes a member of University staff and UEL’s Tennis Club Chairman Michael Ka Chueng.
The glory ultimately went to Michael Chueng in a titanic tussle, who was presented with the winner’s trophy by Tournament Director and University Tennis Coordinator Tony Brown.
