Financial Services make a green impact

Wednesday 27 March 2013

Congratulations to UEL’s Financial Services Green Impact team who held a Green Impact breakfast event on Friday morning, 22 March 2013.

The objective of the event was to involve the local community, students and staff in disseminating the message that UEL is a green Fairtrade university, encouraging its staff, and students to demonstrate this by participating in the Green Impact programme.

Green Impact aims to help reduce UEL's carbon footprint and environmental impact by adopting green practices within departments and encouraging colleagues to follow. The 7 areas for action include energy efficiency, recycling, good waste management, sustainable travel, purchasing and biodiversity.

The Financial Services Green Impact team worked incredibly hard last to achieve the Gold Award. This year, the team are really keen to work with others and with the local community to spread green fever and maintain their title as one of the greenest departments at UEL.

There’s still time to join Green Impact as we are extending the submission date to the 31st May. If you would like to get involved, pleased contact Emily Hamilton.
