Tight result in BUCS Boxing final

On Saturday, first year sports science student Sam Bezzina, competed in the BUCS Boxing under 60kg final.  Bezzina, who trains with local boxing club West Ham ABC, fought GB champion Jack Slater from Northumbria. Despite a good start, the UEL student was behind after the first round, and in the second round seemed to struggle with Slater’s powerful right hook. In the third and final round the east Londoner scored with a string of quick jabs to leave the final result very tight. Although Slater won by a majority, Bezzina will take heart from his silver medal on his first outing in the UEL colours.
