Stay safe on campus

Wednesday 27 February 2013

Personal safety for all staff and students is especially important and the Security Department have produced a short guide ‘Stay Safe – a guide to personal safety’ which you can view here.

Security asks all members of the University community to act sensibly and avoid situations or places in which they may put themselves or others at risk. Many of the incidences of crime on the University campuses involve theft of personal property from public areas or theft through unauthorised access to buildings. Such crimes can be reduced by ensuring that valuable personal items are not left unattended in offices, libraries, teaching rooms or catering areas and by locking the doors and windows in office and residential accommodation whenever these areas are vacated. In addition ID cards should be visible whilst on campus and please prevent people tailgating though access controlled doors.

In the event of any suspicious activity, please contact Security immediately on 020 8223 7771.
