Staffing arrangements during the Paralympic Games
The Paralympic Games begin on Wednesday 29 August and record numbers of ticket sales indicate that this is going to be another huge event with significant impact on east London. Please note the following staffing arrangements:
Travel
We would like to thank everyone for observing the travel advice given during the Olympic Games. We ask that you continue to plan your journeys to take into account possible transport disruption and consider the best ways to manage your time, whether that is working from home or on campus.
Parking permits
Period 3 Olympic parking permits are now in place until Monday 10 September. If you have been authorised to get a permit and have not yet collected it, please note the following collection points:
· Docklands period 3 permits - collect from Security desk, East building, 24 hours.
· Gallions Reach (August) - Docklands Reception 8am - 4pm.
· Duncan House - Duncan House Security
· Stratford - Stratford Reception
Please note that applications for academic parking permits have been submitted but are not ready for print yet. If you have any questions please contact Docklands Reception on 020 8223 5888.
Duncan House parking
Staff will need to use the underground car park from Monday 27 August to Monday 10 September, as the over ground car park is for the exclusive use of the Olympic Delivery Authority and Paralympics Ireland.
Stratford parking
From Wednesday 29 August to Sunday 9 September there is no staff parking in the R Building car park or Cedars Road overflow car park.
Staff access and ID badges
Please ensure that you wear your UEL ID badge at all times so that you can easily be differentiated from our Paralympic clients and prospective students.
If you forget your ID, reception staff at both Stratford and Docklands campuses can provide a visitor's badge for the day, programmed with the same access levels you normally have. If you have lost your ID, reception will provide a replacement.
Visitors and deliveries
Please ensure you alert Reception and Security of any visitors and deliveries by emailing reception.docklands@uel.ac.uk or reception.stratford@uel.ac.uk
Campus security
Access to Docklands Campus from early evening until morning will be restricted to residents and people attending organised events to reduce the risk of residential burglary.
