E Resources 541 x 290

Two new e-resources have been launched to help our students with academic essay writing and the development of skills.

Write it right

APSE is pleased to announce the launch of an exciting new e-resource, developed to support our Level 0/1 students with academic essay writing. It provides a wealth of advice, guidance, examples and interactive exercises which take students through different aspects of essay writing, including:

  • Understanding the question
  • Planning and structuring
  • Paragraphing
  • Developing arguments
  • Academic style
  • Proofreading and editing

It can be used flexibly: to complement skills modules, as an introduction to academic essays or as a handy tool to dip into when specific help is needed.

Find it at uel.ac.uk/writeitright or in the Skills Portal.

For further information contact Erica Plowman or Dallas Davis.

UEL Skills Portal

APSE is also pleased to announce a new online resource, the UEL Skills Portal.

This has been designed to offer easy access to an extensive range of resources to support the skills needed by our students.  Most resources are those we offer at UEL, some are external resources. There’s access to support on IT skills, study skills, revision tips, Information Literacy, referencing and avoiding plagiarism, for example.

Access the Skills Portal at uel.ac.uk/skills or via UEL Direct.
