News

Dear Colleagues

I’m delighted to inform you that several colleagues formerly based within UELconnect have now joined the APSE team. These are:

-       the eLearning team (Stephen Brant and three LTAs – Rose Heaney, Michael Parkes and Annette Odell, together with Erica Plowman and Lindy Zubairy joining from Oct 1st)

-       the Learning Systems team (Mike Patten, Dan Bowden, Remy Olasoji, Kevin Barnes).

One of our most pressing priorities is to work with colleagues from Schools and Services to deliver the approved and planned transition from UELPlus to Moodle in the current academic year.

The planned transition will comprise:

  • level 0/1 for the start of Semester B, 2013
  • level 2/3 and post graduate programmes for the start of Semester A 2013/14

Moodle Update – IT have undertaken preparatory work on the server over the summer and development will now continue. A range of training sessions and support materials will be advertised shortly.

APSE are currently reviewing their working processes, priorities, team name and location to more accurately reflect the integrated team. Dr Julie Baldry-Currens, Director of APSE will ensure that you are appropriately consulted, informed and updated.  In the meantime, all colleagues’ contact details remain the same.

Best wishes,

Prof. John J Joughin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor
