The UEL Stratford and Duncan House libraries will close their doors for good at 5pm, Friday 7 June. Whilst the printed library collections are relocatedto the new Stratford Library there will be no library facilities in Stratford for two weeks from 5pm, Friday 7 June until Sunday 23 June. Just to remind colleagues, UELs policy is that smoking is not permitted in or near to any of our buildings. Those members of staff, students or visitors wishing to smoke area asked to comply with signs around building entrances which indicate the minimum distance people need to stand away from the building. From 1 July 2013, new Government legislation will require UEL to enrol staff in an occupational pension scheme, irrespective of whether they have previously opted out of one. As part of the new Defined Contribution (DC) Pension Scheme, UEL will contribute 10% of pensionable pay towards the scheme (with no employee contribution required). For more information click here... University Square Stratford, our brand-new campus in the centre of Stratford, is due to open ready for the start of the new academic year in September 2013. The new campus is a unique partnership between UEL and Birkbeck, University of London, funded by the London Borough of Newham and the Higher Education Funding Council. UEL’s law, criminology, performing arts and MBA students will study alongside students from Birkbeck. Staff moves are due to start in August 2013, with the campus opening its doors to students from 16 September 2013. Read more»
