Arrow The winners of the UELSU elections 2013

The Students’ Union held its annual elections last week to find next year’s officer team. The Union saw its most sucessful election, with many candidates campaigning and a total of 2,764 students voting. The five successful students who will form the full-time sabbatical team are:

Friday Obodo – President
Edna Chirwa – Vice-President (RDBS and ACE)
Mariam Irshad – Vice-President (Education and HSB)
Michail Koufalitakis – Vice-President (LSS and Psychology)
Daniel de Sosa – Vice-President (ADI and Combined Honours)

The new sabbatical team will begin their roles on Monday 1 July.

Events Management students are hosting a Sping Charity Ball taking place on Friday 22 March 2013 at the Tereza Joanne boat in Docklands. All funds raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK. Arrow Hedge your bets – Following the results of the 2012 UEL Biodiversity Survey, a native hedge will be planted as part of the new Stratford Library redevelopment, alongside the Arthur Edwards building. This will encourage more local wildlife and provide a habitat for nesting birds. The hedge will be planted with hawthorn, blackthorn, holly, field maple and dog rose.
