UEL’s Security Service has received information about a scam involving a fraudster telephoning people pretending to be from their bank or the police. Please note neither banks nor the police will ever ask for your PIN or bank cards – don’t give them to anybody! For further details click here...

Arrow Planned works at Gallions roundabout

TfL will be removing the old traffic signals on the Gallions Roundabout from the 11- 28 March and replacing them with a new set of signals. For the three-week work period there will be no pedestrian crossing facilities on the roundabout itself. For pedestrians walking between Gallions Reach Station and the university there is still a pedestrian crossing operating on Atlantis Avenue and then the underpass under Woolwich Manor Way to use whilst the works are ongoing.

Arrow ADI's own Julie Cook book features at Gagosian Gallery– Congratulations to ADI's photography tutor Julie Cooks, whose book 'Some Las Vegas Strip Clubs' has been included in Ed Ruscha Books & Co's exhibition in New York and a book by MIT University Press – Various Small Books. The promotion of this project was supported by a UEL research grant.

Arrow Bee garden at Stratford – UEL has been awarded some bee-friendly seeds to plant around the arch next to Kwame House at the Docklands Campus. The seeds are specially adapted for the clay soil and come summer we should have a haven full of wildflowers for bees. If you’d like to get involved in sowing the seeds, please contact Emily Hamilton.

Arrow Spread the tree love– The Stratford Orchard received a dousing of topsoil helped by students at UEL. So far two trees have been repotted but volunteers are still needed to top up the soil on the remaining four trees. Arrow UEL Cricket – UEL's cricket team will be travelling to Edgbaston in Birmingham on Saturday 9 March to play in the Indoor Cricket League Finals. UEL will take on Bristol University and Cardiff Metropolitan University. The winning team will play in the National Final on Wednesday 20 March.

Arrow International Women's day – England Women Crickers; Lydia Greenway, Beth Morgan and Susi Roe will be at SportsDock on Thursday 7 March from 2.30-3.30pm, to lead a taster session in cricket as part of UELSports celebration of International Women's Day. UELSports is also hosting two days of women's only cricket taster sessions and a fashion show that will celebrate women in sport with clothing provided by Kukri and recent UEL graduates who have created their own business with the help of the EET.
