Arrow Seed drive at UEL – With spring approaching at UEL the Green team have restarted their weekly Allotment Club. They have dug the beds over and are now looking for garlic, spinach, peas, rhubarb and parsnip, chilli seeds and peppers seeds. They are also looking to plant black mint, thyme and coriander in self-contained pots. If you have any seeds or pots you would like to donate or would like to come and plant yourself at the Stratford Allotment, please contact Sustainability Officer Emily Hamilton.

Arrow Don’t waste it, WARPit
Another success for WARPit, the University’s online reuse portal. The campus management team have successfully disposed of surplus items as a result of a post-Olympic clear up.

The items were advertised on UEL’s WARPit, which includes membership of local charities. The items were quickly claimed by the British Heart Foundation. With a combined value of more than £2,000, these items should hopefully raise some important funds for the charity.

The WARPit system makes it easy for staff with surplus resources to give away or loan them to others inside the University. This reduces the need to buy items we already have.

If homes cannot be found within the University the system automatically advertises to charities. This is where the likes of BHF can really benefit. If you would like to register your School or Service on WARPit, please contact Emily Hamilton.
