Brief Biography:

I joined UEL in January 2008 as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Primarily, I contribute to the development of the school’s knowledge base through research. I also teach on modules in the Health Studies Field (Health Promotion, Public Health, Health Services Management) and provide support to academic staff. My PhD will focus on the environmental barriers and facilitators of physical activity. My research involves the investigation of factors that influence physical activity levels in communities, such as facilities, safety, street connectivity and land use.

I graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2003 with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, after which I worked for an independent research organisation. I went on to study for an MSc in Health Psychology whilst working as a research and technical support assistant at the University of Bedfordshire. After completing my MSc I spent a year working in Tokyo as an English Teacher, before returning to England to focus on my research interests.
