Launch of ‘Improving health in Newham’ seminar series

The first seminar in our new research seminar series will take place on Tuesday 27th April (Classroom 3, Education Centre) beginning at 4.15 with tea and cakes with the presentations taking place between 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

The aims of the seminar series, organised by Angela Harden, Professor of Community and Family Health at UEL and NUHT, are:

The first seminar is entitled: “The role of research in improving health: examples from recent projects in Newham” and the guest speakers will be Anne Claydon, Lead Nurse Diabetes, NUHT and Jo Morris R&D Lead, NUHT. Anne will talk about how the findings of the Poseidon trial influenced the care and experiences of those living with diabetes and Jo will present a new project on increasing access to antenatal care illustrating how the views of women and health professionals are influencing the project research questions and design.
