Brief biography:

Andrew Calcutt is Programme Leader of:

M.A. Magazines and M.A. Journalism and Society.

A journalist turned academic, Andrew has written and researched widely on cybercultures, creative industries, youth and other aspects of contemporary popular culture.

He is currently investigating the changing relations between media, politics and the public, with particular emphasis on 'social media' and user-generated content.

Andrew is editor of Rising East, the online inquiry into the reconstruction of East London www.risingeast.org.
