Psychosocial Studies

Psychosocial Studies (PS) offers a unique combination of psychological and cultural exploration.

The subject area grew out of a belief that the traditional boundaries around subject areas often do not help us really understand people and society. We are particularly interested in:

We have a strong commitment to using insights from different academic areas. Lecturing staff come from a range of academic backgrounds including: sociology, psychology, law, literature and cultural studies.

Our Psychosocial Studies BA (Hons) Degree offers a unique combination of psychological, sociological and cultural exploration, the University of East London is internationally known as a pioneer in this area.

We also hold regular open days where you will be able to find out more about studying for a degree in psychosocial studies.

We also offer an MA in Psychoanalytic Studies in conjunction with the Tavistock Clinic and a Diploma and MA by Independent Study in Psychosocial Studies, and several short graduate programmes. We also validate programmes run by The Henderson Hospital and Cassel Hospital.
