HSB Students

Students in the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience have access to a range of support and learning materials provided by both the School and UEL.

The School runs a Helpdesk where you can get information and support on any issues that arise during your time here. The Helpdesk is open 5 days a week, and always offers a friendly face and a warm welcome.

Study Skills Advisors are available at the Skillzone, in the Stratford Campus Library to support you in your studies, hopefully helping you improve your grades. Help is available with:

UEL Student Services

UEL provides a wide range of resources and support to help students make the most of their time at university and prepare for life after graduation. You will find further information on UEL's Student Services pages.

Other resources

Many programmes at UEL make use of UELPlus to provide access to programme materials on line. UEL also has a dedicated student portal, UELDIRECT, which allows students to check or update personal data, access information, check timetables and much more.

What you can expect

Being a student, and making a success of your time at university needs commitment, determination, and a partnership between students and staff. Research has shown that successful full-time students:

  • study for at least 35 hours a week
  • hand in their work on time
  • prepare carefully for exams
  • make good use of the Learning Resource Centre
  • visit the careers service early on in their university experience.

At UEL, we refer to this as the 35-hour attitude , and we have developed a special Student Charter which explains this in much more detail.
