Brief biography

  • I completed my PhD entitled ‘Regulation of Gene Expression during T cell development’ in 1996 at what was then the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and is now CRUK.
  • I took up a postdoctoral position at the Universidad Autonoma in Madrid for 18 months funded by an EU mobility grant to work on signalling events during T cell development.
  • Following this period I worked in the lab of Professor Tessa Crompton at Imperial College London until 2002 as a senior Research Associate working on the role of morphogens, in particular, the  Hedgehog family of morphogens,  in T cell development. The lab then relocated to the Institute of Child Health/UCL in 2002 where I continued to work with Professor Crompton until 2009. The work was funded by the Wellcome Trust and the BBSRC.
  • In 2009 I took up the position of Senior Lecturer teaching Immunology here at UEL.
