Combine specialist study with a visit to one of the world’s great cities.
The University of East London is proud to offer some of the most innovative and employment oriented courses in the UK. We are based at two campus sites in east London each offering a range of modern facilities all designed to enhance your learning experience.
Our Docklands Campus was London’s first new university campus to be built in over half a century. Opened by the new Mayor of London on his very first day in office in 2000, it has won acclaim for its iconic architecture. The Campus also features SportsDock, UEL’s new £21 million sports facility.
Our Stratford Campus provides impressive facilities and is located in the heart of Stratford, home of the 2012 Olympic Games. Stratford has excellent transport links to central London and is also home to Westfield, the capital’s new luxury shopping and leisure destination.
In summer 2013 we will be running three programmes:
1. International Summer School in Sport and Exercise Science
Based at UEL’s new SportsDock at the Docklands Campus, this course will allow you to engage with experts in the various fields of sports science. You will be learning from people who work with a wide range of sports men and women including those who are elite, disabled, and participate at the recreational level. You will discover how to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical way that allows you to bring sports science to life. You will gain skills that are essential to prospective sports scientists and that will help your academic and personal development.
Topics of study include:
2. International Summer School in Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy programmes all over the world have many topics in common. Come to our Summer School to discover first-hand how the physiotherapy profession works in the UK. The programme is designed and run by experienced physiotherapists and includes lectures and handson practical sessions where you will explore a range of current techniques used by UK physiotherapists.
Meet clinicians working with a range of local groups including football clubs and disabled children and hear how physiotherapists work in the NHS, private practice, schools and community groups. Enhance your professional communication skills; understand
the importance of patient-centred care and how to incorporate this into your practice.
Based in the purpose built Clinical Education Building at UEL’s Stratford Campus this course provides the opportunity to expand your skills in Physiotherapy whilst enjoying all the attractions that London has to offer.
