Sports Physiology

Sports physiology is a growing area and demonstrates that in order to be competitive, athletes and coaches must understand the human body in order to harness its full potential. This introductory course will aim to inform and develop the skills and knowledge for practitioners within this area.

  • Topics covered:
    • introduction to sports physiology
    • understanding participants
    • measuring aerobic performance
    • measuring performance in high intensity exercise
    • measuring strength and power

Sports Psychology

This introductory course explains the competitive edge that can be gained through using the power of the mind and aims to develop the skills and knowledge of practitioners within this area.

    • introduction to sports psychology
    • understanding participants
    • sport and exercise environments
    • understanding group processes
    • facilitating psychological growth and development

Strength and Conditioning

This course will aim to inform and develop the skills and knowledge for practitioners within this area, to help people take part in physical activity at every level for all of their lives.

    • performance related assessment
    • strength training
    • endurance training
    • speed and agility training
    • mobility and stability in sport performance
    • movement skills development
