Introduction to the Biochemistry & Forensics

Biochemistry, the study of biology at the molecular level, has seen dramatic growth in its scope and importance in recent years. A knowledge of biochemistry is essential to understanding biology, and the rapid development of areas such as genetic engineering will ensure that biochemistry remains at the forefront of scientific practice.

About the Biochemistry & Forensics degree programmes

All of the programmes in this area share a common first year, after which you are able to specialise. Our Biochemistry programme offers a broad-based and open background to the field. Forensic Science deals with science and the law. All these degree programmes may be studied as a major, joint or minor part of a combined honours degree. The programmes are divided into two semesters per year, and you will study three modules per semester. Both Biochemistry and Forensic Science can be taken as four-year sandwich programmes or straight three-year degrees.

Programmes within Biochemistry:

  • Biochemistry (BSc (Hons))
  • Forensic Science (Single and Combined Honours) (BSc (Hons))
