The HERA Project was established to implement the national "Framework Agreement" on pay and conditions. An institution-wide job evaluation system known as HERA (Higher Education Role Analysis) has been used to evaluate UEL's roles. The scheme which is competency based and tailor made for the higher education sector has been used to assign suppprt staff to an appropriate grade within the new grading structure and work is on-going to assign academic staff to the new grading structure.
The other outcomes of the HERA process will be to ensure that there is equal pay for work of equal value, and that in the future there will be greater clarity in determining the appropriate grade for a post.
For further information please refer to the HERA Project, Web Site.
