We provide eyecare vouchers at two yearly intervals to those permanent staff who use computers for a significant part of their work routine i.e. on average more than 1 hour per day. This means you can maintain the health of your eyes by having regular eye tests at a conveniently-located optician.
Regular eye tests are required under legislation about safe use of VDUs, and we demonstrate our commitment to our obligations through the Accor Eyecare Voucher system.
We supply a voucher on request that covers the full cost of an eye and eyesight examination when presented at any of the listed affiliated opticians. The value of the voucher is £19.50 and it can be used at over 6,000 opticians nationwide. If you feel you qualify for a voucher, please ask your manager for a cost code and apply using the link below. The cost of the voucher will be recharged internally back to the relevant School or Service.
Eyecare International is company that visits UEL annually to offer corporate eye testing. Eye tests with this clinic are free to UEL permanent Staff. As with the voucher scheme, if you have had an eye test with this clinic then UEL will only be able to offer another free Eye Test voucher after another two years.
If your eye test reveals that you require spectacles for computer use (VDU) and your prescription has changed then you are entitled to a further voucher which contributes £55 towards the cost of your prescription.
