Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy is a crucial part of our values, and UEL has developed this Policy as a means of expressing our commitment to our local community, wider society and the environment.

UEL is committed to being a good neighbour, concerned for the community and the environment. We continually strive to improve our performance, ensuring that our activities contribute to the sustainable development of the communities in which we operate.

Our CSR policy covers all initiatives and practices deemed to have a positive impact on the community and environment, including those seen as ‘core’ to providing and promoting higher education, widening participation and raising skill levels.

We have eight Corporate Management Team-approved priorities for community investment.

  1. Environmental sustainability.
  2. Student and staff volunteering.
  3. Community access to premises and facilities.
  4. Adding to the economic, social and cultural fabric of our local community.
  5. Fairtrade.
  6. Charitable and payroll giving.
  7. External and Strategic Development and Research
  8. Sustainable and ethical procurement.
