The group work across four laboratories and has a broad capability for integrated physiological and motion analysis together with the ability to measure oxygen uptake and overall fitness. Equipment includes: Vicon 10 camera 3D motion analysis laboratory and Bertec forces plates embedded in the floor and in a 4 step staircase. A MatScan (Tekscan, USA), RS Scan, and GAITRite walkway to evaluate foot loading characteristics during gait. We have the capacity to measure oxygen uptake and aerobic capacity, neuromuscular performance and transmagnetic stimulation.
The sport and exercise physiology laboratory houses a variety of online gas analysis systems (laboratory-based and portable), motored ergometers (treadmills, cycling, rowing, wheelchair), cardiovascular health-related evaluation tools, speed/acceleration/explosive power assessment equipment (SmartSpeed, Fusion Sport, Australia), and blood analysis equipment (Lipid profiling, glucose, lactate, haematocrit, & haemoglobin).
