Dandelion is frequently seen as no more than an irritating weed, but it has been used by herbalists and physicians in the West and East for centuries. The plant is rich is vitamins A, B-complex, C and E, as well as calcium, iron and potassium.

What are its effects?

Its works mainly on the liver and kidneys – and other organs such as the skin and digestive system – to aid removal of waste products from the body.

What can it treat?

The herb is useful in the treatment of flatulence, constipation, gallstones, stomach upsets, eczema and skin disorders, oedema, high cholesterol, gout and arthritis.

What is more, the leaves can be used as a diuretic in the treatment of high blood pressure by reducing the amount of fluid in the body.
