Stratford

We have a thriving Grow Your Own Club at Stratford. Check out the 'Events' page for more details.

Three new raised beds were put in over the summer between University House and the Clinical Education Building and were filled with new vegetables in autumn 2011.

Permaculture designs were drawn up for all three beds, with lots of autumn and winter vegetables. Our first planting session took place during First Week, on September 15. We planted out some cranberry bushes and garlic bulbs, as well as onion, rocket, radish and watercress seeds.

At the end of September, on two Grand Planting Days at the beds, lots more seedlings were put in the ground, including rocket, pak choi, broccoli, red chard, carrots and landcress. Tasty leaves from these plants have already been harvested. See above for details of how to get involved.
