Sustainability in the Curriculum

In November 2012, UEL conducted a curriculum review to determine the extent of courses and modules with sustainability as a central topic. The results showed the following (links point to programme summaries):

These results were gathered by searching the UEL website (including school module lists, module descriptions and PDF prospectuses) for the following keywords in module / course titles and general descriptions: sustainab* (to include sustainability and sustainable), environment* and energy.

It is not intended to give a complete picture of the extent of sustainability in the UEL curriculum. At present, it is believed that a lot of teaching on sustainable development occurs on an ad-hoc basis through guest lectures and themed coursework projects. We intend to build a more complete picture of the extent of ad-hoc and other teaching of sustainability at UEL over the next 12 months.
