Don’t waste it…WARPit!

UEL has launched its own WARPit (Waste Action Reuse Portal) Club. UEL Staff can use WARPit to redistribute their school’s or department’s unwanted furniture, fixtures, fittings and office equipment. Click on the buttons above for handy hints and tips for using WARPit.
WARPit is a redistribution network which makes it easy for individuals in an organisation to give away or loan unwanted items to others inside the same organisation or beyond.
For UEL the system is useful for redistributing unwanted resources but is particularly powerful with furniture, electrical items, specialist items (such as engineering, medical research and lab equipment) and office consumables such as unused inkjet cartridges and stationery.
Watch this clip to see a demonstration of how WARP IT works.
Why has UEL signed up to WARP IT?
Below are just a few of the reasons why UEL is using WARP IT:
- It’s easy to use;
- Reduces UEL’s purchasing and disposal costs;
- Helps UEL to ensure compliance with the WEEE Directive;
- Increases UEL’s recycling and reuse capabilities;
- Encourages increased cross campus and interdepartmental collaboration; and,
- Helps UEL to reduce CO2 emissions.
