Green Move Out | Bin the Bin | KeepCup and Aquatina | WARPit
On September 12, 2011, we launched two new UEL-branded products across campus, the KeepCup and the Aquatina waterbottle. Both new products are available to purchase in the following outlets:
Docklands:
Stratford:
Duncan House:
The KeepCup is a colourful reusable and travel-friendly mug, available for sale in twenty colour combinations and two sizes, 8 oz and 12 oz, each costing just £4.50. Each time you bring your KeepCup back for a re-fill in the above outlets, you receive a 10p discount off your hot drink.
Why use a KeepCup?
We go through a lot of disposable cups, at UEL and everywhere else. The KeepCup gives you an alternative to using and throwing away yet another item. Instead, you can get just the cup you like, get it filled with your favourite drink at your favourite outlet, pop the lid on and take it with you, without worrying about spills, burning your hands, or a guilty conscience. Wash it out when you've finished your drink and repeat again and again and again...
The outlets listed above are also stocking the brand new reusable and collapsible Aquatina water bottle, available in blue and clear for just £3. The Aquatina fits in your pocket and will not only reduce plastic waste but help you to save money too! Instead of buying two or three 500 ml water bottles that you then throw away (or recycle, of course!), you could get one Aquatina which will last you a long long time.
Where can I fill my bottle?
Following student feedback, UEL has recently installed twelve new water fountains. You can fill your water bottle for free at any fountain and rest assured that you are drinking top-quality water that doesn't cost the earth.
The water fountains are located in the following buildings:
Stratford: R Building, Conference & Computer Centre, Arthur Edwards, University House, Education Building, Duncan House.
Docklands: Aqua East, East Building, West Building, Library / Business School, Knowledge Dock.
Most of the fountains are located in or near a catering outlet and/or vending machines. The new catering leaflets located in most outlets across campus have all the water fountains indicated on the map inside. You can also download the maps from the leaflet (PDF, 235 KB)
