We also regularly have volunteering opportunities available to students interested in many aspects of sustainability. These range from helping with food growing on campus (through Student Eats), assisting students in halls of residence for the annual Green Move Out, and staffing stalls for Fairtrade Fortnight. Get in touch: greenthing@uel.ac.uk and we'll put you on a mailing list so you stay in the loop. Or, email us with your specific area of interest and we will find something suitable for you.

From September 2012, UEL and UELSU are participating in Student Eats - a two-year NUS project through which we will be establishing a new food-growing space at Docklands and improving the one at Stratford.
We are currently planning some launch events and are looking for creative and enthusiastic volunteers with great ideas for how to get everyone talking about Student Eats.
Once the project is up and running, we will be looking for help with lots more things, including:
Keep an eye on this page for more details, have a look at our current growing projects' pages or check out the National Student Eats website.
You can also enter a competition to try and win some of the following exciting items:
All you need to do is fill out the NUS Student Eats Baseline survey. It only takes 10 minutes! The survey closes on October 31.
Get in touch via greenthing@uel.ac.uk if you are interested in taking part in Student Eats. We look forward to hearing from you!
The UEL Sustainability Team, Employability and Enterprise Team and UELSU and are working in partnership to boost UEL students’ skills and develop the entrepreneurial spirit of our students. With the support of UEL's academic schools, the partnership aims to engage students in improving the environmental performance of UEL and to produce graduates who are literate in the principles of sustainability.
We have received glowing feedback from our skills workshops so far. For example in March 2012 we trained 21 Green Impact Auditors and subsequently conducted environmental audits of UEL's participating schools and services.
Please see the table of training events below. More details and information will be added as information becomes available. If you are a UEL student and are interested in attending these workshops, please contact Emily Hamilton, Sustainability Officer.
