The Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee is a committee of our University's Academic Board established to exercise responsibility for the formulation and implementation of research and knowledge exchange policy and strategy. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor John Joughin, chairs the committee and a member of Quality Assurance and Enhancement is the Officer.
The Committee normally meets five to six times a year and the minutes of these meetings and terms of reference are available on the Quality Assurance and Enhancement (QAE) web pages.
The Research & Knowledge Exchange Committee replaced the former Research Committee in September 2009. Some minutes of the former Research Committee are available via the Research & Knowledge Exchange Committee webpage above.
The Research Degrees Subcommittee was constituted in September 2009 as a sub-committee of the Quality and Standards Committee and is responsible for the institutional oversight of postgraduate research matters. The Director of the Graduate School, Dr. Alan White, chairs the committee and a member of Quality Assurance and Enhancement is the Officer. The terms of reference give further details of the role and responsibilities of the committee, which are available from the Quality Assurance and Enhancement (QAE) web pages.
The Subcommittee replaced the former PGR Review Committee in September 2009.
The central University Research Degrees Subcomittee and Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee are supported by similar structures within each of our academic Schools.
