Master of Research Programme

Induction and 2012/2013 module registration for all new MRes students will be held at 1600 on 19th September 2012 in the Graduate school . This will include scheduling of personal and dissertation tutorials .

ALL New MRes students are expected to attend unless there extenuatiing circumstances which prevent this.

Existing MRes students who need to continue their enrolment into 2012/2013 are also required to attend this induction event for purposes of module registration and scheduling of tutorials

The MRes includes two mandatory core modules, GSM 011 (30 credits) which is run in both Semester A and Semester B and GSM 004 (60 credits) which is the Dissertation module and also available in both Semesters

MRes students must also complete one advanced research methods 30-credit module from a choice of 4

GSM 005 (quantitative data analysis) and GSM 012 (Designing and implementing survey research).

These modules currently available in Semester B only

GSM 013, (evaluation research) and GSM 016 (Qualitative data collection and analysis)

These modules currently available in Semester A only

To obtain an MRes, students also need to complete 2 further modules which can be taken either from the list of GSM advanced research methods modules or any M-level module available to MRes students in any school at UEL.

MRes programme modules are also available either singly or in combinations as follows:

PG Certificate in Research - GSM 011 plus any one of GSM 005/012/013/016

PG Diploma in Reseacrh - As for the Certificate plus any 2 other M level modules
