Student Money, Advice and Rights Team (SMART)

What we do

The Student Money, Advice and Rights Team (SMART) at UEL understand the financial pressures students face and are here to offer support and practical advice.

Our team:

  • Work with you to help you take control of your financials, tackle debt and access the funds you’re entitled to
  • Provide advice, information and guidance on Government and University Funds
  • Administer the Access to Learning Fund, Emergency Loans, Teacher Development Agency bursaries and others
  • Work with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to improve financial know how among students
  • Give guidance on other money related issues.

We use a combination of workshops and one-to-one meetings.  You can contact us by email phone 020 8223 6200 or pop in to see us (opening hours are below).

You can also sign up to out Facebook group (UEL Money Matters) and follow us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/UELMoneyMatters) for regular information on any new funding that becomes available, student discounts and updates on relevant funding information.
