Funding
Eligible part-time students no longer have to pay their tuition fees up front. Those studying at 25% intensity can apply for a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of the tuition fees. In addition there will be a range of grants, scholarships and bursaries on offer to those who meet the varying criteria.
International students are not normally eligible for grants and loans from the UK government. Find our more about fees and funding for international students.
Tuition Fee Loan
Tuition fee loans will be available to UK and EU part-time students to help pay the cost of tuition fees. To be eligible for the loan you must generally be studying on a higher education course for the first time and must complete a minimum of 25% of the equivalent full-time course load per year. You will only start to repay this loan the April after you finish your studies if you are earning over £21,000.

UEL Progress Bursary
The UEL Progress Bursary helps all of our Home (UK)/EU undergraduate students with the financial aspects of studying – by providing funds to spend on study-related expenses. There is no catch; this is your reward for progressing! Part-time students will receive:
- £50 per module studied
The Progress Bursary can be used to buy books, computers, and other educational resources. Find out more about the Progress Bursary.
Free textbook offer
Undergraduate part time students will benefit from our free textbook offer which entitles them to some free course books.
Additional government funding
- Disabled Students' Allowance - you may be entitle to receive additional financial support to help you access learning if you have a disability or dyslexia
- Support for students with dependants
Access to Learning Fund
Our Access to Learning Fund is for undergraduate students who face exceptional financial difficulties whilst studying. Part-time students whose disability prevents them from attending 50% of a full-time course are eligible to apply for help from this fund, as long as they are studying at least 25% of a full-time course.
