Tuition Fee loans are available to help pay the cost of your tuition fees. They are paid directly to the university by the government and are available to most new full-time undergraduate UK and EU students.
Maintenance loans are also available to full-time home (UK) students only to help pay for living costs (food, travel, accommodation etc). The amount you receive depends on where you live and study. The maximum Maintenance Loan for students starting in 2012/13 is:

Maintenance grants are available to full-time home (UK) students from lower income families. Full-time students from families with annual incomes of less than £42,000 may be entitled to a grant of up to £3,250 to help pay towards living costs (food, travel, accommodation etc) while studying. The amount you receive depends on your household income. Grants do not have to repaid.

Bursaries are available from the Training Agency for Schools (TA) for students who are eligible, depending on the teaching subject and degree classification.

**General science, business studies, citizenship, applied science, health and social care, leisure and tourism, media studies, psychology, social sciences (except economics) attract no bursary.
