Permits are required for parking at all campuses. Click here to download a Parking Permit Application form
Application forms may be sent to either reception Docklands or reception Stratford in hard copy form or emailed to reception.docklands@uel.ac.uk – Docklands and reception.stratford@uel.ac.uk – Stratford. Where timetabling or business needs are stated, the application or renewal form MUST be signed by your Dean of School/Director of Service or forwarded via his/her e-mail account by way of verification. The processing of applications which are not verified in this way will be delayed. Please note that the Dean of School/Director of Service’s endorsement is for the purpose of verifying the information provided to assist in the assessment process. It does not guarantee that your application will be approved.
The closing date for the receipt of applications for the coming year is Friday the 6th July 2012. Applications received after this date will not be processed until after the summer break and priority will be given to applications received by the deadline.
Please note: As all applications are assessed according to the needs based criteria on an annual basis, staff members who held a peak permit during 11/12 will not automatically be approved for 12/13.
Staff members currently have unrestricted parking after 5pm and at weekends at all campuses. To apply for an off peak parking permit, please complete the relevant form. The form should be completed and returned in hard copy to reception Docklands/Stratford or via email to reception.docklands@uel.ac.uk – Docklands and reception.stratford@uel.ac.uk – Stratford. Staff who are allocated a peak permit will not need to apply for an off peak permit in addition. If you have an off peak permit from 11/12 and your vehicle and personal details remain the same you may simply e-mail Security Parking Permits confirming that you wish to renew your off peak permit for 12/13.
Please note: parking enforcement is in operation at all times and vehicles not displaying a valid permit are liable to receive a penalty.
Applications for peak permits after the closing date and throughout the year should be submitted as above and will be processed as soon as possible after receipt. However, where there is a high demand for parking the availability of permits will be reduced after the main allocation period. Therefore subsequent permits may be issued only where applicants meet the highest priority criteria.
There is no requirement currently to display a permit for a motorcycle, however all motorcycles should be registered by completing the relevant form. These forms should be completed and returned in hard copy to Security Parking Permits at Docklands or via e-mail to the Security Parking Permits.
There is no parking available for students during peak hours (0800-1700 Mon-Fri) with the exception of Blue Badge holders who may apply for a peak hours parking permit using the student peak hours parking permit application form. Students who held a peak permit for 11/12 and wish to renew for 12/13 should complete a new application form.
Students who have a significant health condition but do not hold a Blue Badge may also be considered for a peak permit. To apply on these grounds, students must complete a peak permit application form which must be verified by a disability advisor before it can be processed.
Parking on the access road at Docklands campus is strictly prohibited and students are asked to be respectful of our neighbours and to avoid parking inconsiderately in the areas around the campus.
Students currently have unrestricted parking after 5pm and at weekends at Docklands and Stratford. There is no student parking at Duncan House at any time. Vehicles using the car parks during off peak hours should display a valid Off Peak permit.

There is no student parking available for residential students during peak hours with the exception of Blue Badge holders as above. Residential students who wish to receive visitors with vehicles during off peak hours must ensure that they sign in with security and obtain a windscreen pass for the duration of the visit. In exceptional circumstances it may be possible to arrange visitor parking during peak hours. Any requests to do this must be addressed in the first instance to Residential Services. Residential students moving in or out of accommodation may be permitted to park for a short period i.e. not in excess of one hour. Arrangements for this facility again must be addressed to Residential Services initially.
There are a limited number of visitor parking spaces available at each campus. Visitors must be authorised by a member of UEL staff. If you are expecting a visitor and wish to arrange a parking space, please contact Customer Services at the relevant campus by e-mail in advance to check availability and reserve a space if possible. You will need to provide the name and where possible, the vehicle details of your visitor. We may be unable to accommodate visitors who arrive without securing a pre-booked space. Staff arranging visitor parking should instruct their visitors to obtain a visitor windscreen permit on arrival. Failure to display a valid visitor permit may result in your guest receiving a penalty. Please note that visitor spaces may not be booked for staff members including casual or agency staff or any other person undertaking paid work on UEL premises.
