Docklands Reception Building - Update
The new Docklands reception building is entering a new construction phase and as a result the current entrance route into Docklands Campus will be temporarily altered.
From Tuesday 21 – Friday 24 February there will be no pedestrian access along the ramp between Cyprus DLR and University Square between 8am and 5pm. However, the staircases leading from Cyprus DLR to University Square and to the East Building car park will remain open.
We ask that wheelchairs users and people with limited mobility wait at the top or bottom of the ramp where they will then be escorted through the building site. Cyclists are asked to access the University from the Gallions Reach roundabout.
During this time the hoarding will be taken down while glass is delivered and installed in the new building. The temporary staircase will remain in place for a few more weeks allowing access to the rear of the East Building. Diversion signs will be put in place on Monday and all students, staff and visitors are requested to comply with any instructions given by the construction team or security staff.
Further information will be issued shortly about subsequent phases of the works.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your continued co-operation throughout these building works. If you have any queries regarding this, please contact Mike Crook, Assistant Head of Capital Projects, on 020 8223 7891 / m.crook@uel.ac.uk
