Baroness Prosser of Battersea OBE
Baroness Prosser, a UEL graduate, honorary award holder and donor, has a distinct and impressive public profile. She is Deputy Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Previously she has held key positions as Deputy General-Secretary of the Transport and General Workers Union, President of the TUC, an Equal Opportunities Commissioner, Chair of the World Woman’s Committee of the International Chemical and Energy Workers’ Union and a member of the Women’s National Commission. Baroness Prosser kindly accepted an invitation to host UEL’s first Annual Fund Awards Ceremony in September 2010.
When asked about the reasons for her support, she said: 'Those of us who have been lucky enough to benefit from education should, where we can, try to help others coming along. An educated population is good for us all'.
