Aim: to support graduates to take part in paid internships within companies that can provide work experience and training
UEL’s Employability and Enterprise agenda involves working closely with companies so that a range of services are offered to our students and graduates. These services include advice, CV clinics, mock interviews, mentoring, work placement opportunities, and taking part in our assessment centres
Many employers use such schemes to assess the value that a graduate can bring to their business by providing a specialist skill or area of expertise to support business growth in a new market, or by bringing a new perspective to an existing business challenge.
CASE- STUDY
William Mark (2009, BSc Architecture)
'Working in a client-facing role has developed my understanding with clients. I found that the employability training offered as part of the scheme was extremely useful. In particular, I learnt a lot about how to prepare for an interview and how to improve my presentation skills. It was also useful to work with and share ideas and experiences with other graduates who were in the same position as me. By taking part I have gained more self-confidence and I now have a more positive outlook'.
