Jamell Anderson
Jamell Anderson, basketball player and Sports Scholarship winner in 2010, said:
"Without this scholarship, I would not be able to afford training and tournaments, as sometimes they are quite far away and even abroad."
Jeffrey Lawal Balogun
Jeffrey Lawal Balogun is racing towards future success after setting a blistering pace in the 200 meters, with an amazing time of 20.38 seconds at an event in Switzerland. "The University really gives us the support so that we can develop our sport. The scholarships will help us finance activities like training and traveling, but they will also make sure we balance our workload of lectures and training."

Ade Adepitan
Ade Adepitan MBE is a British television presenter and wheelchair basketball player. Ade was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to disability sport in 2005. He was presented with the Lifetime Achievement award by the University of East London in 2010, and received an Honorary Doctorate from UEL in November 2010. "I remember training really hard in the East End of London but being disappointed that we didn’t have the facilities, which is why I think what UEL is trying to do is fantastic and really want to support the University because of the facilities that they’re going to create here in east London."
