Donations & Gift Aid | Legacies | Payroll Giving | Donating Shares
Payroll Giving is a tax-effective scheme that allows people who are paid through PAYE to make a regular donation to their favorite non-profit organisation by having their donations come straight from their gross pay before tax. With the Government's £200m Matched-funding Scheme during 2008-2011, the value of your payroll will be increased by a further 50% at no expense to you. This scheme considerable value to employees' contributions.
Payroll Giving is simple: A regular monthly donation is deducted from your gross pay before tax. So, your donations cost you 20% less than your actual pledge (40% if you are a higher rate taxpayer) - for example a monthly pledge of £20 will only cost you £16 (£12 to higher-rate tax payers) and a monthly pledge of £100 will only cost you £80 (£60 for higher-rate tax payers). The rest will be paid by the Inland Revenue at no extra cost to you.
