Annual Fund Awards

The Alumni Development Office is pleased to announce the launch of our 2013 Annual Fund Awards. This year we will be awarding the following 4 categories;

The Student Financial Assistance Grants are for first year UK and EU undergraduate students who are facing severe financial difficulties that may hamper their education and may jeopardise the student’s ability to continue with their education. The amount will be paid to successful applicant in the following September after the application is approved for funding. Please submit your completed application to development@uel.ac.uk by Friday 31 May 2013.

Annual Fund Sports Coaching Awards are for UEL students who currently hold a Level 1, 2 or 3 Coaching Qualification, be aspiring to excel towards coaching in their specific sport and would like to acquire the next level qualification. The amount of scholarship will vary from a minimum of £250 to a maximum of £1000 depending on the specific sport qualification costs, and will be paid to successful applicants in the following September after the application is approved for funding. Please submit your completed application to development@uel.ac.uk by Friday 31 May 2013.

Annual Fund Start-Up Research Grants aim to assist members of UEL staff in initiating or restarting their research activity. In order to qualify for a Start-Up Research Grant, you need to:

Successful candidates will be awarded up to £5000. This will be allocated to a dedicated cost code which will sit within the successful candidate’s school. The grant will be accessible from the September after the application is approved for funding.   Please submit your completed application to development@uel.ac.uk by Friday 31 May 2013.

The Annual Fund Alumni Entrepreneurship Award is for UEL graduates who have a tangible business idea and are looking for funds to help start up a business. An amount of £1000 and 1 year’s free access to the Petchy Centre to the value of £2,100 will be awarded to the winner. The amount will be paid to successful applicant in the following September after the application is approved for funding. Please submit your completed application to development@uel.ac.uk by Friday 31 May 2013.

Each of the above mentioned awards will be awarded at our fourth Annual Fund Awards Ceremony due to be held in September 2013.
