Exam re-sits and coursework submission Students re-sitting exams or handing in coursework from Monday 9 July to Monday 13 August (whilst additional security measures are in place) should contact their Registrar, if they have not already done so, to arrange access to campus. Those who have not arranged prior access will NOT be granted access during this period.

Library access Students requiring library access between 12 July and 26 July should contact their Registrar. Registrars then need to email the student, confirming they require library access, which the student should then print and bring with them to Reception to gain access to campus.

Please note that the library will be closed from 27 July to 12 August. From 13 August onwards, students will be able to gain access to libraries by showing their ID card at Reception.

Campus access Postgraduate research students are able to submit hard copies of their doctoral thesis during games-time. A member of staff will be available in the Graduate School on Docklands Campus (EB1.43) every Wednesday, 10am-4pm, from Wednesday 11 July to Wednesday 8 August (inclusive).

Doctoral students can also submit the final copy of their thesis electronically once all necessary corrections have been made and confirmed by the examiners.

Further information can be found on the Graduate School web pages

Directing student enquiries
From Monday 23 July to Friday 10 August, please direct all student enquiries to the relevant School email accounts There is also a Centralised Student Helpdesk / 020 8223 5900, which will be open Monday-Friday, 11am-3pm, if a student wishes to speak to someone in person. This service will be located in CCG.06 at Stratford Campus and has been set up to assist students with general enquiries.

Parking reminder

Please be reminded that Friday 20 July will be an extremely busy day across all three campuses as well as London in general. Staff are strongly advised not to use their cars where possible on this day and to work from home if feasible. If you do need to drive on this day, please try to avoid parking on campus. Alternative parking is available at Galleons Reach car park and at Stratford Campus, Water Lane car park.

UEL IDs

Don't forget that your UEL ID needs to be visible at all times while you are on campus. You can collect UEL Olympic lanyards from the Olympic Operations Rooms on both campuses, EB.G.10 (Docklands) and RB.G.12 (Stratford).

Staff lounges

We are pleased to announce that two staff lounges are now open at Docklands and Stratford Campuses. These will be open seven days a week, from 10am to 10pm until Sunday 9 September. Tea, coffee and light snacks will be served throughout the day. The lounges are located at:

Docklands: EB.G.14
Stratford: Buzz Cafe, R Building

Reminder for staff working remotely

If you are working remotely during games-time, please don't forget to divert your phones and manage your voicemail. All line managers are requested to make the necessary arrangements within their teams. Telephone guidelines are available on the IT Services webpage

Olympic partners

Throughout the Games, UEL has a number of partner clients staying on campus. There are a range of benefits from these close relationships such as opportunities for students to get involved during the Games, in volunteer or placement capacities, as well as longer-term options for the University, including bursaries and scholarships. To read more about our partners and some of the opportunities they are creating, visit the 2012 website.
