Shuttle bus update

Just a reminder that we are running shuttle buses to help out with your journey to and from campus over the Olympic and Paralympic Period.

Buses will run on a circular route between their drop off points from 7am to 7pm, seven days per week until Friday 10 September. Please note that due to major disruption to the road network, these timings are based on best estimates only.

Route one: Axe Street (Barking) > Stratford Campus (Water Lane / The Green) > Axe Street (Barking) > Docklands Campus (Cyprus Place) (circular route)

First pick-up: Axe Street (Barking) at 7am

Route two: Peto Street North (Canning Town) > Stratford Campus (Water Lane / The Green) > Docklands Campus (Cyprus Place) (circular route)

First pick-up: Peto Street North (Canning Tow) at 7am

The final bus on each route will leave Docklands Campus at 7pm each evening and will complete a final circular loop before terminating at Docklands Campus.

Krys Gunton tells us about her experiences as a 2012 volunteer

"I usually work as an Administrator in Health, Sport and Bioscience but for the next two weeks I’ll be volunteering as a Gamesmaker at London 2012. This followed a 6 month role as a SEV (Selection Event Volunteer) at the Excel Centre interviewing all the keen people who had applied to become Gamesmakers themselves.

"Event Services is a very varied functional area and can involve anything from ticketing to stewarding to manning accreditation points or even just giving directions. My first shift is on Saturday for the evening session and I can’t wait to feel the buzz you get from being involved in the greatest show on earth! I had my venue training a few weekends ago and the Aquatics Centre a stunning venue so I feel very privileged to have been posted there."
